The 15th conference of the International Conference Series on Competition and Ownership in Land Passenger Transport (The Thredbo Series) will be held at the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden, from Sunday 13 to Thursday 17 August 2017. The conference is hosted jointly by the Stockholm School of Economics and the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI).
The conference series is the premier international forum dedicated to the analysis and debate of competition and ownership issues in land passenger transport. This influential forum attracts high quality participation and delivers a large portfolio of impressive material synthesising developments not only from developed economies but increasingly from developing economies.
The conference series is directed towards a broad audience of policy makers, planners, decision makers on infrastructure and service operators, consultants, researchers, academics and students. Thredbo 15 will feature plenary sessions and a series of intensive workshops based around keynote papers and a series of resource papers providing a range of international perspectives on each issue.
The call for abstracts and papers is expected to be distributed and published on this website in August, including detailed information about the proposed themes for the workshops. As the conference is scheduled a bit earlier in the year than usual, some of you may also want to consider adding some time for vacation in Stockholm in conjunction with the conference. August is normally a good month to visit Stockholm, its surroundings and also other parts of Sweden, with pleasant weather conditions and an abundance of sights and activities.
